C++ programs can be run if they are compiled and executed. It is a compiled language. Compiled language means that you need a compiler to convert your written code (i.e. human written/readable code) to a language machine can understand. Compiler helps convey human language to machine language.

Following are the four steps involved to run or execute a C++ program:

  1. Coding– Writing a program
  2. Saving– Saving a program
  3. Compiling– Using a terminal to compile
  4. Executing: Using the terminal to execute the program

You can repeat the process if your code requires some fixing. Till now, steps 2-4 were automatically done for you through a magic button. Let’s understand what and how these steps work in the upcoming topics!
