C++ is a programming language that was developed in 1979 at Bell Laboratories by Bjarne Stroustrup and his team. After forty years, it is one of the most widely used programming languages on the planet; C++ applications can be found everywhere, from the depths of the oceans to the surface of Mars.

C++ was derived from the C language, as the name implies; Bjarne’s goal was to incorporate object-oriented programming into C, a language well-known for its portability and low-level functionality.

So why should you learn C++? Here are some reasons to consider:

  • It is quick and adaptable.
  • It is extremely well-supported.
  • It compels you to think differently and creatively.

We’ll begin learning some fundamental concepts in the following lessons where you’ll write your first C++ program. Also, do not be concerned if some of the words make little sense at the moment. We’ll learn more about them shortly!
