Swift: Creating an Instance

Object Creation in Swift:

Individual objects are created using instances in Swift. We created a structure to model cars in the previous exercise’s example:

struct Car {
  var name = "" ;
  var speed = 0 ;
};

We’ve modelled some general characteristics of cars in Car. However, each car is unique in its own way; to programmatically represent this, we must create multiple instances of cars!

var racingCar = Car();

We’ve created a single instance of the Car struct in the example above by adding parentheses () to Car and saving it to the racingCar variable.

Setting up an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) can be difficult for beginners. The Online Compiler will enable you to run your code inside your browser without the need to install an IDE. If you need a more detailed explanation of a specific topic, the best place to find answers is in the Official Documentation.
